MOC

#writing

A MOC (Map of Content) is a curated hub note that clusters related notes around a topic. The term comes from the Obsidian / PKM community (Nick Milo popularized it). Unlike a folder or a tag — which are rigid containers — a MOC is editorial: you choose what goes in, in what order, under what groupings, with a short intro explaining why this area matters. Multiple MOCs can overlap, and a single note can appear in several. That's the point — the graph has many projections.

MOCs are the backbone of how mindex is organized above the flat stream. Each one lives as a normal note with moc: true in frontmatter; the /mocs page lists them all. Related methods: Zettelkasten, evergreen notes, digital garden.
